Senior Marketing Manager – Government Solutions (f/m/x)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential geospatial analytics organization that is expanding its government and defence solutions team across Europe. This is a rare chance to build a marketing function from the ground up within a fast-growing segment focused on critical infrastructure, resilience, and situational awareness for public-sector clients.

As the first dedicated marketing professional for government solutions, you will own positioning, content strategy, press relations, and event presence across Germany and EU institutions. You will work directly with business development and leadership to translate complex satellite-based capabilities into compelling narratives for defence, security, and government audiences.

Responsibilities

• Define and own all government and defence positioning, messaging, and value propositions—tailoring materials for resilience, ISR, and situational awareness use cases
• Build the collateral suite: capability briefs, pitch decks, one-pagers, and materials supporting public tenders and procurement processes
• Develop and execute a strategic communications plan including white papers, expert articles, use-case stories, and press releases for contract wins, partnerships, and milestones
• Cultivate relationships with defence, security, and space trade media across Germany and Europe
• Drive executive visibility through LinkedIn presence, interviews, and speaking opportunities for government leadership
• Own the European defence and government event calendar (e.g., AFCEA, Berlin Security Conference, ILA, Eurosatory, NATO-affiliated formats) end-to-end: budget, booth presence, speaking slots, BD briefings, and structured lead follow-up
• Create the government marketing playbook from scratch—processes, templates, agency networks, and performance tracking (share of voice, inbound interest, event outcomes)

What We're Looking For

• 6–7+ years of marketing, sales, or similar experience in the defence or security sector with strong familiarity with defence-tech, military terminology, and communication toward armed forces
• Generalist track record covering product marketing, content creation, PR, and events—not just one discipline
• Excellent writing and editing skills in German (C1+) and English, from press releases to capability briefs
• Understanding of how government and defence organizations communicate and procure (protocol, sensitivity, long sales cycles)
• Based in or willing to relocate to Berlin (hybrid working model); willingness to travel approximately 20–30% across Europe
• Eligibility for security clearance (typically requiring EU or NATO citizenship)
• Familiarity with Earth observation, space, or geospatial technology is a plus
• Additional European languages (especially French for EU/NATO scope) are a plus
• Public affairs or government relations exposure is a plus
