Senior Category Manager (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization seeking a Senior Category Manager to take ownership of multiple product categories and drive strategic development. In this role, you will lead cross-functional projects that impact multiple teams while managing supplier relationships. You will be responsible for leading a category management team, including coaching, development, and providing feedback to team members. Your mission is to motivate the team to achieve targets and continuously optimize the strategic direction of your categories.

Key responsibilities include:

• Category Management: Take ownership of multiple categories and their continuous development
• Team Leadership: Lead a team of Category Managers and Associates, including fostering and developing team members
• Project Work: Lead cross-functional projects to improve processes and implement business strategies
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with supply chain, customer service, and marketing teams to ensure optimal category performance
• Analysis: Make strategic trade-offs on pricing, promotions, and availability across your product portfolio

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, economics, or an analytical field
• 4+ years of professional experience in category management or procurement
• Fluent German and English language skills
• Strong analytical mindset to identify opportunities and optimization potential
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges and innovative solution-finding
• Leadership qualities and emotional intelligence to motivate and effectively lead a team
• Willingness to work four to five days per week in the office in Düsseldorf
