Software Engineer (all genders)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential construction-technology organization seeking a Software Engineer for their Berlin team. In this role, you will work within a cross-functional product vertical developing software solutions that support architectural and engineering workflows. You'll design, build, and maintain Kotlin-based services and React applications, including working on version control systems for managing technical specifications and modular building components.

Your day-to-day will involve end-to-end ownership of features—from initial design through production deployment and ongoing maintenance. You'll collaborate closely with product teams, participate in agile sprint planning, and contribute to roadmap discussions. The team values test-driven development, automation, and modern DevOps practices. Pair programming is encouraged, and you'll have the opportunity to work across the full technology stack including frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

• Professional experience with Kotlin or Java in production environments
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or AWS)
• Professional experience with React and TypeScript
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Spring Boot experience is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, run, and maintain production software systems
• Understanding of modern engineering practices including CI/CD pipelines and microservices architecture
• Interest in or experience with pair programming
• Willingness to contribute to team planning processes and roadmap development
• Curiosity and openness to learning new domains and working across the entire technology stack
• Experience with or interest in leveraging AI-assisted development tools
• Strong collaboration skills and a proactive mindset
