Senior Consultant – Financial Services

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential financial services consulting organization seeking a Senior Consultant to join their growing team in London. This is a hybrid position requiring onsite presence 3-5 days per week, working with leading financial institutions across capital markets and regulatory projects.

Our client delivers high-impact consulting engagements focused on change management, process optimization, and strategic initiatives within the financial services sector. As a Senior Consultant, you'll play a dual role: leading client projects while contributing to business development and thought leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, identifying opportunities for collaboration and expanding account relationships
• Support Project Managers and Business Analysts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring quality delivery and adherence to best practices
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior consultants, fostering professional development and promoting a collaborative work culture
• Collaborate with sales and leadership teams to respond to RFPs, develop client proposals, and support business growth initiatives
• Lead or contribute to change management initiatives across strategy, design, analysis, build, testing, and go-live phases
• Contribute to knowledge sharing through thought leadership articles, whitepapers, presentations, and industry events
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence, enhancing processes and developing intellectual property
• Manage your own workload independently with minimal supervision while supporting broader team operations

What We're Looking For

• Proven consulting experience or alternatively strong project management or business analysis background within financial services
• Demonstrable change management experience across the full project lifecycle: strategy, design, analysis, build, testing, and go-live
• Strong understanding of financial services products and lifecycle events
• Experience managing small projects and supporting successful programme deliveries
• Good knowledge of the capital markets ecosystem including sell-side, buy-side, and market infrastructure participants
• Background either as a management consultant or in a change role within a financial services institution
• Blend of financial services technical knowledge and soft skills including influence, active listening, presentation, and team management
• Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal supervision
• Valid UK work authorization required

• Financial services regulation
• Agile methodology and relevant certifications
• Technology and system upgrade projects
