Senior Security Engineer, Bug Bounty

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization in their search for a Senior Security Engineer focused on Bug Bounty program management. In this role, you will:

• Own and scale the web bug bounty program, including strategy development, prioritization, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Serve as the primary point of contact with external security researchers and bounty platforms, building and maintaining a trusted research community
• Lead triage and technical validation of incoming vulnerability reports across multiple channels
• Drive end-to-end vulnerability remediation processes, partnering with engineering teams to ensure timely and effective resolution
• Identify root causes and systemic security issues, influencing long-term improvements in secure development practices
• Collaborate with the Security Incident Response Team on active incidents and post-incident analysis
• Perform targeted code reviews, primarily in JavaScript and Python, during investigations and high-risk changes
• Develop or leverage tooling to improve triage efficiency, signal quality, and overall program insights

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of demonstrated experience in a security engineering role
• Hands-on experience operating bug bounty programs, including program enhancements, automation, scaling efforts, and/or active bug hunting
• Practical experience working with modern cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure
• Proven ability to analyze code and systems, moving from vulnerability identification through root cause analysis to prevention strategies
• Real-world experience in software development and/or engineering operations
• Ability to develop security tools in programming languages such as Python, Go, Rust, or JavaScript is a plus
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
• A growth mindset and passion for security work—real-world experience and curiosity matter most to us

Pay

This is a remote position available in Germany. While specific compensation details will be discussed during the interview process, pay is competitive and commensurate with experience.
