About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential service organization in Northern Germany seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer for a permanent position in Hamburg. In this role, you will take ownership of operations, optimization, and advancement of the IT infrastructure with a focus on networking, cloud platforms, and virtualization technologies.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize server and client environments as well as virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper-V)
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for complex infrastructure requests and serve as technical point of contact during incidents
- Administer and develop Windows domain infrastructure including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file services
- Operate and enhance Microsoft 365 environment (Entra ID, Exchange, Teams) and cloud resources in Azure
- Ensure reliable operation of core network components including firewall, VPN, switching, routing, and VLAN
- Automate administrative processes (e.g., with PowerShell) to increase efficiency
- Plan and execute infrastructure projects such as migrations, rollouts, and system implementations
- Coordinate external service providers and ensure SLA compliance
What We're Looking For
- Extensive professional experience (5+ years) in system administration with focus on Windows Server, Active Directory, and core network services (DNS, DHCP)
- Confident handling of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams including telephony, OneDrive, SharePoint) and Entra ID
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, switching, VLAN, routing, VPN, and firewall technologies
- Demonstrated experience implementing infrastructure projects (migrations, rollouts, system deployments)
- Excellent German and English language skills for communication with international teams and external partners
- High level of initiative, proactivity, and sense of responsibility with a strong hands-on mentality
