What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including partnerships with regulated institutions
  • Ability to use thoughtful legal analysis to quickly navigate legal and commercial complexity
  • Track record of providing concrete, decision-enabling feedback that balances legal risk with commercial opportunity
  • Self-motivated with commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines
  • Curiosity about business operations and willingness to develop expertise in unfamiliar areas of financial regulation
  • Collaborative mindset with no ego and willingness to support team members
  • Reflective approach to individual and team performance

Desirable but not required:

  • Knowledge of regulations beyond payments, such as insurance, consumer credit, or data protection
  • Understanding of lending businesses and their operational requirements
