Product Manager, Alternative Payment Methods

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Product Manager to lead their Alternative Payment Methods portfolio, with a focus on bank-based payment rails. Our client processes billions of transactions annually for global merchants and is expanding the payment options they offer to help businesses grow internationally.

This is a London-based role requiring three days per week in the office. You'll provide cross-functional leadership across product, engineering, and business teams to deliver seamless payment experiences.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategy for a portfolio of alternative payment methods, determining the best approach for delivery and balancing new additions versus enhancements to existing offerings
• Become an expert in your assigned payment methods, working closely with payment partners to understand trends and success drivers
• Design API and integration experiences for each payment method, balancing consistency with the unique requirements of different payment rails
• Build strong partnerships with business, product, and technology stakeholders to generate momentum and secure buy-in
• Collaborate with other product and engineering leaders to ensure roadmap alignment and successful delivery
• Leverage qualitative and quantitative research and data to drive prioritization and product development decisions
• Engage with merchants to align on payment method selection and deliver recommended approaches
• Understand stakeholder pain points and develop new capabilities that address customer needs

What We're Looking For

• 3-5 years of product management experience
• Experience working with payment methods, especially direct debit and account-to-account payment methods
• Data-driven approach: skilled at leveraging data and business insights to determine strategic priorities and drive product roadmaps
• Customer-first mindset: able to think from the customer's perspective and balance future opportunities with immediate needs
• End-to-end thinking: structured and diligent approach, understanding all key components necessary to drive product success
• Strong leadership skills: excellent at collaborating proactively with cross-functional stakeholders, with high emotional intelligence and influencing abilities
• Effective communication: able to inspire others with a shared vision and simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences
