Project Director

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential clinical research organization seeking a Project Director to lead complex oncology trials. This fully remote position is open to candidates in the UK, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, or Slovakia.

As Project Director, you will serve as the primary client liaison and oversee all aspects of global clinical trials or trial portfolios. Your core responsibilities include:

• Managing all phases of clinical research trials from establishment through closing, ensuring consistency across assigned portfolios
• Directing project managers and cross-functional teams in trial planning, initiation, procurement, and execution
• Overseeing study budgets, scope management, and change orders with minimal support
• Managing financial health including profitability, billable hours, and compliance with billing and forecasting requirements
• Developing comprehensive project plans with timelines, proactive risk management, and mitigation strategies
• Ensuring quality management including eTMF inspection readiness and implementation of corrective action plans
• Preparing project status updates and KPI reports for clients and senior management
• Leading internal and client meetings, driving program-level strategies forward
• Ensuring study-specific training implementation and compliance throughout project duration
• Supporting business development activities including bid defense presentations
• Mentoring associate project managers and project managers
• Providing ongoing feedback and annual performance reviews for functional team members
• Traveling domestically and internationally as required

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in science or health-related field (advanced degree preferred)
• Minimum 8 years of clinical research experience with at least 5 years in direct project management
• Experience managing highly complex global studies or portfolios of studies
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, eTMF, EDC, and CTMS systems
• Mastery knowledge of ICH-GCP and ability to implement regulatory requirements
• Expert understanding of project management software and techniques
• Highly experienced in pharmaceutical and/or device research
