Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential nonprofit technology organization in their search for a Frontend Web Application Developer. This is a fully remote position based in the United States, requiring 35-40 hours per week with availability during US East Coast business hours.

Our client serves over 32,000 organizations worldwide who rely on their platform to collect and analyze more than 20 million data points monthly. You'll be contributing to tools that drive data-driven decision-making across humanitarian, development, and research sectors globally.

This role requires at least a one-year commitment and offers the opportunity to work on meaningful technology that creates real-world impact.

Responsibilities

• Navigate and understand an extensive, long-lived code base to grasp existing behavior and development conventions
• Identify when existing patterns should evolve and propose improvements aligned with modern best practices
• Write robust, concise, and reusable code with comprehensive tests and documentation
• Conduct thorough code reviews for other developers and provide constructive, actionable feedback
• Integrate feedback from code reviews to continuously improve your craft and align with team standards
• Use AI-assisted development tools effectively while maintaining full accountability for code quality
• Investigate bug reports from support teams efficiently, creating well-scoped fixes or clear resolution plans
• Scope, prioritize, estimate, and organize work into manageable, deliverable tasks
• Participate in regular video-conference check-ins with the distributed technical team
• Communicate with users through support channels, forums, and issue trackers as needed
• Contribute to collaborative discussions on design and architecture decisions
• Perform additional duties as directed by the lead developer

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Professional experience writing, deploying, and maintaining client-side code for production-level, API-driven single-page applications
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript, React, and related technologies including styling, state management, and efficient HTTP data exchange
• Proven ability to work with legacy technologies such as Backbone and CoffeeScript
• Recent experience both giving and receiving code reviews in a collaborative environment
• Ability to independently set up and troubleshoot local development environments, recognizing when to seek assistance
• Interest in data collection tools, particularly those serving humanitarian emergencies and challenging operational contexts
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
• Strong Git workflow proficiency
• Availability to overlap with Eastern US time zone business hours
• Consistent availability of at least 30 hours per week, preferably 35+ hours

Preferred experience (not required to apply):

• Docker and Docker Compose in development environments
• Python programming, ideally with Django and Django REST Framework
• Building user-facing LLM integrations
• Survey tools using XLSForm, ODK XForm, and OpenRosa standards
• Stripe payment processing integration
