About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization in their search for an Associate Director of Strategic Sourcing focused on Marketing and Professional Services categories. This is a remote position available throughout the United States, with occasional travel required for business purposes.

Our client's Strategic Sourcing team is undergoing an exciting transformation from transactional procurement to strategic engagement. You'll join a collaborative group of sourcing leaders who partner with stakeholders across the organization to maximize value and drive mission impact through thoughtful resource allocation.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead enterprise-wide procurement initiatives and supplier relationship management across Marketing and Professional Services spend categories including:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies to optimize spend, reduce risk, and enhance value across advertising and media buying, creative and content services, print and production services, consulting services, and legal and advisory services
  • Lead RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, supplier evaluation and selection, and contract negotiations for high-value, complex agreements
  • Conduct market and supplier research to identify opportunities for demand consolidation and cost savings while maintaining service quality
  • Manage supplier performance reviews, relationship development, and escalation processes in partnership with internal stakeholders
  • Negotiate commercial terms, service-level agreements, and licensing models to achieve favorable cost, risk, and performance outcomes
  • Partner with Legal, Governance Risk and Compliance, and Information Security teams to ensure contract compliance with security and business requirements
  • Analyze spend data to benchmark performance and identify efficiency opportunities
  • Create category-specific cost models and total cost of ownership analyses to support data-driven sourcing recommendations
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business units on procurement matters, delivering market insights and ensuring policy compliance
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to understand goals and translate insights into category sourcing strategies that align with enterprise objectives

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier management
  • At least 4 years focused on Marketing and Professional Services category sourcing (advertising and media buying, creative and content services, print and production services, consulting services, legal and advisory services)
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating high-value, complex contracts
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, supplier management systems, and contract lifecycle management tools
  • Strong knowledge of Marketing and Professional Services sourcing categories, including suppliers, market trends, and regulatory landscape
  • Strong analytical, financial, and strategic problem-solving skills with ability to deliver data-based insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with experience influencing senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across diverse teams
  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer

Preferred:

  • CPSM, PMP, Lean/Six Sigma, or ISM certification
