Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital agency seeking a Senior Project Manager for Digital Communications to join their Köln-based team. In this role, you will take ownership of sophisticated digital communication projects with a strong focus on CMS-based information platforms and websites, including their ongoing development and operations.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex digital implementation projects while maintaining control of scope, budget, quality, and timelines
  • Leading CMS-based communication projects including websites and information platforms, collaborating with technology, digital communications consulting, creative, content, and UX teams
  • Working closely with clients and interdisciplinary project teams to understand requirements and translate them into concrete project goals and solutions
  • Identifying new opportunities and potential within existing client relationships, developing projects beyond initial delivery
  • Contributing your experience and project perspective to proposals, tenders, and pitches
  • Managing diverse stakeholders confidently and ensuring clarity, accountability, and effective collaboration even in complex project situations

What We're Looking For

Our client is seeking a professional with:

  • Several years of experience managing digital implementation projects, ideally involving websites, information platforms, or other CMS-based solutions
  • A proactive approach to project management—you want to actively shape projects, solutions, and client relationships rather than simply administering them
  • Genuine interest in understanding clients and their challenges, recognizing potential, and developing suitable solutions with interdisciplinary teams
  • Confidence working with both technical teams and disciplines such as communications, UX, design, creative, or content
  • Experience with presales, business development, tenders, or proposal creation is a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with both agile and traditional project methodologies, with the ability to apply them appropriately; certification is beneficial but not mandatory
  • Ideally, experience from public sector or public-adjacent projects
  • A completed university degree or comparable practical qualification
  • Excellent German language skills in both written and verbal communication for confident stakeholder management
