About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential digital services organization seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead digital communications projects. This role focuses on CMS-based information platforms and websites, working at the intersection of technology, digital communications, creative development, and content strategy. You'll take ownership of complex digital projects while identifying growth opportunities and building strong client relationships.
Location: Mainz, Germany (flexible remote options available)
Employment Type: Full-time or part-time
Responsibilities
- Manage complex digital implementation projects, ensuring scope, budget, quality, and timeline adherence
- Lead CMS-based communication projects including websites, information platforms, and their ongoing development and operations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across technology, digital communications, UX, design, creative, and content disciplines
- Work closely with clients to understand requirements and translate them into concrete project goals and solutions
- Identify new opportunities and development potential within existing client relationships
- Contribute your project expertise to proposals, tenders, and competitive pitches
- Manage diverse stakeholders effectively, maintaining clarity and accountability in complex project situations
What We're Looking For
- Several years of experience managing digital implementation projects, ideally involving websites, information platforms, or CMS-based solutions
- Proactive approach to project management—you want to actively shape projects, solutions, and client relationships, not just administer them
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to understand challenges, recognize potential, and develop appropriate solutions with interdisciplinary teams
- Comfort working with both technical teams and creative/strategic disciplines including communications, UX, design, and content
- Knowledge of various project methodologies (agile and traditional) and ability to apply them appropriately to different situations
- Experience in presales, business development, tender responses, or proposal creation is a plus but not required
- Ideally, experience working on public sector or public-adjacent projects
- Completed degree or comparable practical qualification
- Excellent German language skills (written and spoken) and confident communication with diverse stakeholders
- Project management certification is beneficial but not mandatory
