Head of Data / Tech / E-COM (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consumer brand in München that is at an exciting inflection point. Our client has valuable data across marketing, product, finance, and supply chain—but it lives in siloed systems. They've piloted promising AI use cases but need someone to take them from proof-of-concept to production. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll build unified data infrastructure, automate processes with AI, and lead a small e-commerce team toward greater in-house capability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a unified cloud data platform that brings together marketing, product, finance, and supply chain data sources—moving stakeholders away from Excel silos toward self-service BI
• Anchor AI-first process automation across five core business areas: marketing, product development, supply chain, customer service, and finance (e.g., automated reporting, AI-driven quality checks, centralized finance dashboards)
• Translate business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions, working closely with department leads and senior leadership
• Provide both functional and people leadership for a two-person e-commerce team; prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and develop team members to reduce reliance on external agencies
• Deliver measurable reductions in manual effort through productionized automation

What We're Looking For

• Approximately 4–7 years of hands-on experience in data and e-commerce environments, ideally D2C
• Strong track record building unified data architectures and self-service BI solutions from end to end
• Demonstrated success implementing AI-driven or automated processes and taking them live independently
• Comfortable working without a dedicated engineering team; you roll up your sleeves and execute
• Fluent German and willingness to work on-site in the München area three days per week
• Bonus: familiarity with Shopify ecosystems (Liquid templating, apps, API integrations) to accelerate internal capability building
