Senior/Staff Software Engineer

About This Role

We are representing a confidential engineering software organization building AI tooling for the physical product development space. This is a senior or staff-level position depending on experience, working remotely from Germany.

Our client is in production with paying enterprise customers across Europe. The technical challenges are genuinely open—multi-agent reasoning over 3D geometry, search infrastructure for engineering part libraries, and interface design for systems that need to explain structural failures. There is research to draw from but very little established product playbook.

Responsibilities

You will own large, end-to-end problems across the full stack. Recent work at the organization has included:

• Building a custom multi-agent orchestration SDK from scratch to support long-running processes that survive restarts and handle real production scale
• Converting CAD processing from a brittle manual workflow into production infrastructure, including wrapping a C++ SDK in Python for reliability
• Migrating the entire application architecture from Electron and Webpack to server-side rendered React with Vite

Upcoming priorities include 3D-to-3D search over real customer part libraries, constraint solvers and optimization integrated with agent systems, agents capable of reasoning about physical objects, and hybrid cloud deployments for clients with strict data residency requirements.

The stack is Python and TypeScript, with multi-agent orchestration and AI integrations across multiple providers.

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience shipping production systems across both frontend and backend—you can point to concrete examples
• A track record that reads as a set of problems solved, not just a list of technologies
• Strong fluency with AI tooling to accelerate your work, combined with foundational experience building systems without those shortcuts
• Comfort working on problems that are not yet well-defined
• End-to-end ownership, including ongoing maintenance and iteration after launch

Bonus experience (none required): CAD systems, computational geometry, constraint solving or optimization, 3D rendering, LLM agents, or industrial software.
