Founding Legal Engineer

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential AI research organization in Munich. This is a rare founding-team role for a qualified lawyer who wants to shape how artificial intelligence transforms legal practice. You'll work directly with world-class researchers to design, evaluate, and deploy specialized systems for complex legal work.

This is not a traditional legal role. You'll translate legal expertise into technical requirements, evaluate system outputs for accuracy and utility, and lead enterprise implementations. The organization values deep collaboration—expect to work closely with PhD-level engineers and machine learning researchers in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Design realistic legal tasks, datasets, and evaluation criteria for training and testing specialized systems
• Translate complex legal processes into structured workflows alongside research and engineering teams
• Evaluate system outputs for legal soundness, practical utility, and potential failure modes
• Lead enterprise pilot programs and client implementations
• Support customer discovery, product demonstrations, and go-to-market initiatives
• Set product and engineering standards based on real-world legal requirements

What We're Looking For

• Law degree with strong academic record
• Experience practicing law in a firm, in-house department, or other legal setting
• Proactive and self-directed; comfortable with broad ownership in an early-stage environment
• Genuine curiosity about how AI systems function technically
• Comfortable working closely with researchers and engineers, even without writing code yourself
• Passion for understanding technology deeply and shaping its application to legal work
• Based in or willing to relocate to Munich or Tübingen; at least one day per week in-office expected
• Full-time availability
