About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential robotics organization bringing advanced manipulation technology from research into production. This is a rare opportunity to join at the inflection point where deep technical capability meets real industrial deployment.

As Head of Product, you will serve as the operational backbone of product development, translating customer requirements into a robust roadmap and ensuring delivery of production-quality systems. You'll work closely with engineering leadership to balance customer value, technical feasibility, cost, and time-to-market as the organization scales from development to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the product roadmap, continuously balancing customer needs, engineering capacity, technical risk, and market timing
  • Transform customer and application requirements into clear, testable specifications with full traceability from initial inquiry through validation
  • Coordinate across mechatronics, software, electronics, systems engineering, and applications teams to align on milestones, dependencies, and interfaces
  • Drive products through development gates to production readiness, owning milestones, budget, unit cost, and quality metrics
  • Make pragmatic trade-offs between competing priorities, keeping development velocity while maintaining quality standards
  • Support technical customer discussions, feasibility assessments, and partner conversations, feeding market insights back into product decisions
  • Identify capability gaps across engineering functions and translate them into hiring needs and make-or-buy decisions
  • Ensure products are manufacturable, testable, reliable, and scalable beyond prototype stages

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or comparable technical field
  • 7+ years developing complex mechatronic or hardware products, with significant experience in product development or technical program management
  • Proven track record taking products from requirements through development to production readiness
  • Strong requirements management skills and solid systems engineering foundation
  • Experience leading complex, multidisciplinary teams without direct reporting authority
  • Demonstrated product judgment balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, cost, quality, and schedule
  • Hands-on, structured approach with ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels
  • Fluent English; German is a strong advantage
  • Bonus: Experience in robotics, gripping systems, drive technology, or highly integrated mechatronic systems; startup or scale-up environment; familiarity with robotics, machinery, or functional safety standards
