Team Lead People (w/m/d) – befristet

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential social-impact technology organization in Berlin seeking an experienced Team Lead People for a 15-month fixed-term contract starting December 2026. In this role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the People and Office Management team while actively shaping organizational culture.

• Team Leadership: Provide professional and disciplinary leadership for the People and Office Management team
• Strategic Direction: Own the strategic alignment and development of all People functions including recruiting, people operations, talent development, and office management
• People Strategy: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop people strategy, create compelling workforce reports, and formulate data-driven, future-oriented recommendations
• Organizational Development & Change: Actively guide the evolution of team and organizational structures, support change management initiatives company-wide, and ensure changes are clearly communicated, properly implemented, and embedded across teams
• Hands-On Execution: Beyond strategic leadership, take ownership of operational tasks including recruiting, HRIS administration (Personio), administrative documentation, and day-to-day people operations
• Advisory & Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to all employees and executive leadership, providing swift solutions to workplace matters
• Performance & Feedback: Coordinate and evolve performance review and feedback processes, as well as talent development initiatives including growth frameworks and values integration
• Communication: Communicate company updates and People/Office Management topics through stand-ups and internal channels in English

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 5+ years in HR/People roles with generalist experience across the full employee lifecycle (recruiting, people operations, performance management, employee relations)
• Leadership Background: Proven team leadership experience
• Leadership Competencies: Strong decision-making and persuasion skills, conflict resolution abilities, and capacity to provide calm and structure during periods of change
• Dual Focus: Ability to develop people strategy with executive leadership while rolling up your sleeves for daily operational work
• Change Management: Confident leading teams through transitions while building trust and maintaining stability
• Legal Knowledge: Solid German employment law knowledge with commitment to continuous learning
• Communication Skills: Excellent facilitation and presentation abilities, diplomatic communication style, and fluency in both German and English (written and spoken)
• Location: Based in Berlin with ability to work four days per week on-site (one day remote)
