Werkstudent Cyber Risk & Compliance (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential energy organization seeking a working student to support their Cyber Risk & Compliance initiatives in Hannover. This role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of business and IT security, focusing on systematic identification, assessment, and management of cyber risks.

As part of the Digital Security Team, you'll gain practical exposure to cyber risk management, ISO 27001 compliance, and security governance while helping ensure that IT solutions meet security requirements from design through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Support the assessment of new applications against security requirements
• Help ensure security controls are properly integrated into solutions
• Assist with regular reviews of existing applications and processes
• Support identification and evaluation of IT and cyber risks
• Maintain and update the risk register and track remediation measures
• Assist with audits such as ISO 27001 assessments
• Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled student in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT Security/Cyber Security, Business Administration with IT focus, or comparable field
• Ideally some initial experience in IT or information security
• Strong interest in IT risk management, IT architecture, compliance (ISO 27001, NIS2, NIST CSF), and cyber security
• Proficient MS Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Analytical thinking and structured approach to work
• Interest in understanding connections between business and IT
• Self-motivated with eagerness to learn
• Strong communication skills and team orientation
• Very good German and good English language skills
