Senior Electrical Engineer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential medical technology organization in their search for a Senior Electrical Engineer based in Wessling, Germany. In this role, you will develop, implement, and test electrical components for advanced medical devices, working closely with systems engineering, software development, quality assurance, and regulatory teams.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing power and control electronic boards for complex medical systems
• Creating electrical circuit diagrams, wiring schematics, and electrical safety concepts to ensure product functional safety
• Developing component and system specifications, risk analyses, DFMEA documentation, and verification reports in compliance with CE, FDA, and MHLW requirements
• Performing verification testing to validate electrical components against product requirements
• Supporting product lifecycle management, including troubleshooting production issues and maintaining stable operations
• Conducting engineering tasks during prototype setup and start-up phases
• Coordinating with third-party suppliers and contractors as needed
• Implementing cost reduction initiatives and monitoring technological trends in electronics
• Representing engineering in cross-functional project meetings and assisting with engineering task planning

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field
• At least 7 years of experience developing electrical devices, preferably medical systems
• Advanced knowledge of power, digital, analog, and microprocessor technology
• Proven experience designing and developing power and digital electronic boards
• In-depth understanding of EMI/EMC design principles and electrical safety requirements
• Experience creating electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and technical reference documentation
• Experience with PC-controlled systems and performing design transfer to production
• Knowledge of requirements and systems engineering principles
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820.30, IEC 14971, IEC 62366, IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, and related standards

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of ERP systems (Infor SyteLine preferred)
• Experience with design tools such as Altium, Eagle, OrCAD PSpice, Multiphysics simulation, or MATLAB
• Familiarity with requirement management tools (DOORS, Polarion, or CodeBeamer)
• Hands-on experience building PCB prototypes and system cabling
