Senior Backend Engineer (Boosters)

About This Opportunity

Our client, a confidential gaming technology organization in Europe, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their promotional features team. We are representing them in this search and invite qualified candidates to apply through Get A Job.ai.

This is a remote position focused on developing and optimizing promotional features for gaming platforms, where performance, scalability, and cutting-edge solutions are critical. The ideal candidate is product-passionate, excels at solving deep technical engineering problems, and brings a fast "PoC first" approach with a strong sense of ownership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust backend systems for promotional features
• Optimize existing systems for enhanced performance and scalability
• Lead technical decisions and contribute to SaaS solutions
• Collaborate with distributed teams to innovate and implement new features
• Ensure code and architectural excellence through reviews
• Address complex technical challenges with innovative solutions
• Participate in on-call rotations within the squad to ensure system reliability and availability

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript (primary backend stack), or strong backend experience in Go, Java, C#, or C++ with readiness to ramp up quickly
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrency patterns
• Experience building distributed systems and working with messaging and coordination tools (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, distributed locks)
• Experience with gRPC in production environments
• Solid knowledge of databases: relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL), columnar (ClickHouse), and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and Kubernetes
• Skilled in building and maintaining unit and end-to-end tests
• Proven track record of delivering production-ready solutions
• Experience working with large-scale microservices architectures
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred:

• Understanding of enterprise development patterns
• Active performance observation experience
• Gambling domain experience
• Understanding of application security and industry standards
