Junior Product Owner

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-established European digital platform serving LGBTQ+ communities. Our client is seeking a Junior Product Owner to join their Berlin-based product team in a delivery-focused role that bridges strategy and execution.

This is a hybrid position requiring at least three days per week in their Berlin office near Wittenbergplatz. You'll work alongside Product Management, Design, Engineering, QA, and Business Intelligence teams to ensure product priorities translate into clear, actionable development work.

Responsibilities

• Refine product requirements and translate approved documentation into implementation-ready epics, user stories, and tickets
• Write clear acceptance criteria and ensure stories are sufficiently detailed before entering development
• Maintain and prioritize the backlog according to product leadership direction
• Participate in regular meetings to clarify requirements across development, design, and delivery teams
• Support the two-week delivery cycle by ensuring teams have necessary information and decisions
• Identify dependencies, blockers, and missing requirements early; escalate appropriately
• Collaborate with QA on release priorities, acceptance criteria, defect triage, and release readiness
• Verify delivered functionality against agreed requirements and acceptance criteria
• Work with BI to translate product questions, KPIs, and tracking needs into data requirements
• Ensure analytics requirements, including event tracking, are captured as part of delivery
• Maintain clear, up-to-date product documentation in Jira and Confluence

What We're Looking For

• Passion for building products for LGBTQ+ communities
• Initial experience as a Product Owner or in a similar product delivery role, ideally in B2C environments
• Experience writing or refining user stories and acceptance criteria
• Good understanding of Agile product development; hands-on experience with Scrum and/or Kanban preferred
• Comfort working with Jira and Confluence; experience with Xray is a plus
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
• Proactive communication style; comfortable driving requirements toward clarity
• Based in Berlin or willing to relocate
• Excellent written and spoken English at a native or near-native level
