Senior DevSecOps Engineer – London

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology client in their search for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer based in London. This is a leadership-track individual contributor role focused on building and maturing security platforms across engineering teams. You'll design automated security solutions that empower developers to build securely without sacrificing velocity, working closely with engineering leadership to shape the security roadmap and culture.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi-quarter security roadmap for the entire engineering organization
• Develop and maintain platform-level security tools that enable automated, self-service security for feature teams
• Integrate security primitives into standard CI/CD and cloud deployment workflows
• Conduct cross-team assessments to evaluate current security posture and identify high-risk technical debt
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture where security is integrated into the "you build it, you run it" philosophy
• Stay ahead of evolving threat landscapes, particularly regarding supply chain risks and AI infrastructure security
• Own and mature existing detection, SIEM, and incident-response tooling as part of the broader security platform
• Collaborate with IT on AI-usage risk mitigation, including data exposure and prompt injection concerns

What We're Looking For

• Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture (AWS) and modern security best practices
• Proven experience designing self-service platforms that developers actively adopt and use
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex security concerns into actionable decisions
• High proficiency in at least one modern programming language
• Familiarity with agent-based and AI-assisted development tools
• Pragmatic approach to balancing security requirements with business velocity
• Leadership style rooted in empathy, collaborative debate, and commitment to team decisions
• Track record of building sustainable systems and documentation that enable long-term team capability
• Comfort working through ambiguity and taking ownership of results in a high-transparency environment

Pay
