Contractor Senior Test Automation Specialist – MEAN Environment – FULL REMOTE

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization based in New York for a Senior Test Automation Specialist position. This is a full-time contractor role, fully remote, ideal for an experienced QA professional who has built test automation frameworks for large-scale web applications in a MEAN stack environment.

Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 5 hours per day during New York business hours. This is a long-term engagement open to both freelancers and W2 contractors.

Responsibilities

• Work within an agile development team to ensure quality across complex web applications built on MongoDB, Express, Angular, and Node.js
• Develop, modify, and execute functional test scripts and analyze defects in systems under active development
• Collaborate closely with developers to identify potential operational issues, assess risks, and resolve problems proactively
• Build test automation frameworks from scratch using Selenium WebDriver
• Automate API testing using Postman and similar industry-standard tools
• Conduct load testing using various performance tools and recommend solutions for identified issues
• Perform penetration testing and security-related testing as required
• Document defect details, create comprehensive reports on defect types and resolution steps, and maintain regression test frameworks
• Maintain knowledge base documentation in collaboration tools

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree
• 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience with complex web application platforms
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, managing, and executing test cases, preferably using QA management tools
• Proven expertise with test automation using Selenium, including writing scripts and performing API testing
• Experience with security testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, and load testing
• Mobile application testing, browser compatibility testing, and accessibility testing experience
• Strong background in identifying, analyzing, documenting, and reporting test results
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with developers in an agile environment
• Experience with collaboration and documentation platforms is a plus
• Fluent English communication skills required
• Must be available to work 5+ hours per day during New York business hours (for example, 9 AM NY time)
