Software Engineer – Front End – Studio (Core)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Front End to join their Core engineering team in London. In this role, you will:

• Lead the design and delivery of complex, user-facing features and shared foundational components for a modern institutional trading platform
• Drive a system-design approach to building new front-end services, balancing trade-offs across scale, performance, and maintainability
• Set and evolve engineering standards across the team, including architecture, testing, tooling, and code quality
• Mentor and grow other engineers through code review, pairing, and technical guidance
• Partner with product, design, and back-end leads to shape roadmaps and turn ambiguous problems into clear technical plans
• Own the operational excellence of your domains, ensuring reliability, observability, and a high SLA
• Clearly explain the nuances of system design and front-end paradigms to engineers and stakeholders alike

What We're Looking For

Required:

• At least six (6) years of professional experience implementing scalable web applications with React and TypeScript
• Experience contributing to systems that solve complex business problems and handle massive amounts of data; comfort with scale, distributed systems, and associated technologies
• Strong command of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Ability to clearly explain the nuances of system design and paradigms to engineers and stakeholders
• Track record of prioritizing end-user experience, reflected in API design, functionality, and performance
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members, define engineering standards, and drive a system-design approach to building new services
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a consistent focus on delivering high-quality products
• Pride in the quality of your work and high standards for what you ship

Nice to Have:

• Experience leading front-end architecture for large-scale or data-intensive applications
• Deep experience with monorepo tooling (Nx, Turborepo) and micro-frontend architectures such as Module Federation
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
• Experience in financial services, capital markets, or trading platforms

Tech Stack: React, TypeScript, Next.js, Module Federation, Nx, Node.js, Kubernetes, and Cloud (AWS or Azure)

Location: London (hybrid – minimum three days per week in office)
