Forward Deployed Engineer (all genders)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential AI consulting organization operating across Germany. This is a rare opportunity to join as a Forward Deployed Engineer, working end-to-end on production AI systems for enterprise clients in highly regulated industries.

You'll own technical solutions from initial concept through live deployment, working directly with C-level stakeholders. This isn't a traditional consulting role—you'll stay accountable until systems are running and delivering measurable business impact. The tech stack is deliberately flexible: you choose the right tools for each challenge rather than following prescribed frameworks.

Location: Hamburg, München, Düsseldorf, or remote within Germany

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI solutions end-to-end—from strategy workshops through production deployment and monitoring
• Build agentic systems, RAG pipelines, and LLM integrations for DAX and Fortune 500 enterprise environments
• Use agentic coding tools daily to accelerate development, reviews, and CI/CD pipeline construction
• Represent and defend technical architecture decisions directly at executive level without intermediary layers
• Own accountability for production outcomes—you don't hand off work; you see solutions through until they deliver business value
• Work regularly on-site at client locations, often in regulated sectors like financial services, healthcare, energy, or public sector
• Participate in both strategic planning and hands-on engineering, bridging the gap between concept and running systems

What We're Looking For

• Proven track record taking LLM-based systems into production—ideally in forward-deployed or founding engineering roles
• Production-grade Python expertise (FastAPI, containers, Git, CI/CD) and deep understanding of agentic architectures, retrieval methods, and function calling
• Fluency with agentic coding tools as core workflow accelerators, including for deployment automation
• Experience owning and defending technical decisions directly with top management—this capability must already exist
• Founder or product mindset: you share responsibility for business outcomes, not just code quality
• Ability to quickly ramp up in new, often regulated industries (financial services, transportation, logistics, energy, life sciences, healthcare, public sector, automotive, or defence experience is a plus)
• German language proficiency at C1 level or higher, plus business-fluent English
• Willingness to work regularly on-site at client offices across Germany
• Completed degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, data science, business informatics, or comparable field (Bachelor's or higher)
