Senior Test Automation Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential DevSecOps SaaS organization seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer in India. Our client builds enterprise-grade platforms that handle complex deployment environments and serve customers worldwide. This is a remote role based in Bangalore, and we're looking for someone who can own the entire test automation lifecycle—from framework design to CI/CD integration to performance validation.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end test suites using Selenium or Playwright, including page objects, fixtures, and critical user journeys such as login, SSO, onboarding, scanning workflows, dashboards, and administration
• Own suite health: triage failures quickly, fix flaky tests, and ensure failures are actionable for developers
• Write API-level tests for GraphQL endpoints, covering queries, mutations, and authentication/authorization directives
• Introduce unit tests using Jest for API services and React Testing Library for front-end components, focusing on high-risk areas
• Design and automate tenant isolation checks to verify data security across UI, API, and background jobs
• Integrate test suites into CI pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines or equivalent), run tests against Docker Compose environments, and gate releases on test results
• Perform pre-release regression testing and post-deployment validation in cloud environments, including database migration verification
• Build load and performance test scenarios using k6 or JMeter for pages and queries that impact large tenants
• Document test plans, coverage maps, and clear bug reports with reproduction steps, logs, and supporting data
• Conduct production deployment validations according to release schedules and customer requests
• Provide post-release feedback, reporting, and issue analysis to drive product improvements
• Mentor and train other test engineers on the team

What We're Looking For

Required Experience and Skills:

• 5–6 years in software testing with at least 4 years building (not just maintaining) test automation frameworks
• Strong browser automation experience with Selenium or Playwright, able to structure maintainable suites with page objects and fixtures
• Proficiency writing tests in TypeScript or JavaScript
• Hands-on experience testing GraphQL or REST APIs, including authentication, authorization, and error cases
• Experience with Jest or comparable unit-test runners; willingness to quickly learn React Testing Library
• SQL skills with PostgreSQL for test data setup, result verification, and data validation
• Docker and Docker Compose experience to run full-stack environments locally and in CI
• Proven track record integrating test suites into CI pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) and maintaining reliability
• Version control proficiency (Git)
• Hands-on with JUnit and TestNG frameworks
• Experience with Maven and/or Gradle build tools
• Proficiency with Postman for API testing
• JMeter experience and ability to create performance testing scripts
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum SDLC using JIRA
• Familiarity with static code analysis tools like SonarQube
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to multitask across multiple initiatives
• Passion for continuous improvement including root cause analysis and preventive measures
• Strong written communication and documentation skills
• Ability to provide proof-of-concept work for new technologies or tools
• Experience with automation reporting tools like Allure or ReportPortal

Nice to Have:

• Multi-tenant SaaS testing experience
• Load testing with k6 or JMeter
• Familiarity with integration platforms (MuleSoft Anypoint, Azure Integration Services)
• Security testing basics and OWASP knowledge
• Experience testing SSO and OAuth flows (Google, enterprise identity providers)
• Testing LLM-backed features and MCP servers
• Knowledge of Playwright HTML reporter or similar tools

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
