Japanese TV/Metadata Specialist- Japan

Overview

We are representing a confidential technology company seeking a Japanese TV/Metadata Specialist to join their team in Japan. In this role, you will contribute to the quality assurance and development of entertainment products released in the Japanese market and globally. You will evaluate written and spoken content, review metadata accuracy, and work with international teams to maintain high standards across media applications.

This is a remote position based in Japan, operating on a full-time 12-month contract with potential for extension. Work hours are 40 hours per week, either Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday, from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance on movie and TV product data and metadata by following detailed testing instructions and test cases
• Review and create content that adheres to project-specific quality standards, style guides, and preferred checklists
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining high quality standards
• Prioritize tasks and issues quickly in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements
• Navigate ambiguity and make informed decisions with available information
• Collaborate with international teams to monitor and improve product quality
• Maintain organized workflows with strong attention to detail

What We're Looking For

• Native-level fluency in Japanese with deep cultural awareness
• Fluent or business-level English to collaborate with global teams
• JLPT N2 or N1 certification
• At least one year of experience in QA, Data Analyst, or similar role
• Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet applications
• Basic knowledge of MacOS
• Current awareness of technical language usage in Japanese
• Passion for and knowledge of the film and TV industry
• Ability to stay motivated while working on repetitive tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized with commitment to quality
