CEO / Business Co-Founder (f/m/d) role at startup CHROMAMOS

About This Opportunity

We are representing a deep-tech hardware startup in Saarbrücken that has developed a portable gas analysis device currently validated for quality assessment applications in the food industry. The founding engineering team has reached prototype maturity and is now seeking a business co-founder to lead commercialization, fundraising, and company formation.

This is an on-site, co-founder equity role working directly with two technical founders who have built and validated the core technology. You will own all business functions as the company incorporates and transitions from prototype to market-ready product.

Responsibilities

• Lead company incorporation and establishment of legal and operational structures
• Drive EXIST Research Transfer application and identify additional funding routes for product development
• Own fundraising strategy and grant portfolio alongside technical co-founders
• Convert ongoing industry conversations into signed letters of intent and pilot customers
• Define and prioritize target markets beyond initial food industry applications
• Establish commercial operations, marketing infrastructure, and financial management processes
• Support recruitment of additional technical team members as the company scales

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in business development, sales, marketing, operations, or finance—ideally a generalist comfortable wearing multiple hats
• Comfort working with deep-tech hardware products transitioning from prototype to commercial release
• Familiarity with German public funding programs such as EXIST is highly valuable
• Network or experience in industrial quality management, analytical instruments, or related sectors is a strong plus
• Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take on a true co-founder role with equity ownership
• Based in or willing to relocate to Saarbrücken for on-site collaboration
