Network Engineer – Juniper Focused – Remote

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential telecommunications provider seeking a Network Engineer with Juniper focus for a fully remote position based in Costa Rica. Our client operates a global network infrastructure supporting enterprise customers worldwide, and their Network Operations Centre plays a critical role in maintaining service availability, provisioning customer services, and supporting technical teams across the organization.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. You'll be working with cutting-edge routing and switching technologies while collaborating with engineering, support, and provisioning teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain network monitoring systems to ensure maximum service availability and performance
• Perform full fault troubleshooting, problem isolation, and implement corrective actions or escalate to engineering as needed
• Liaise with third-party suppliers to troubleshoot problems, perform upgrades, resolve service impacts, and manage network changes
• Provision and configure core network devices including IP assignment, DNS setup, NNI ports and services, and monitoring software
• Build, install, and configure network equipment including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Perform and maintain hardware, security, and configuration audits
• Write custom monitoring plugins and configure network graphing tools
• Maintain technical documentation and process procedures for NOC operations
• Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for core network datacenter services and infrastructure
• Participate in 24x7 call-out rotation as required

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of Network Operations experience required
• Strong troubleshooting knowledge of TCP/IP routing protocols including STP, VRRP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and IPSec
• Strong knowledge of WAN technologies
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Adtran routing, switching, and firewall devices
• Experience with VOIP, VPNs, and security protocols
• SD-WAN deployment experience preferred
• JNCIA or CCNA certification required; JNCIP or CCNP preferred
• Strong familiarity with Linux OS and networking
• Experience with centralized device monitoring and management tools
• Strong knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting methodologies
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to analyze complex situations and apply creative problem-solving under pressure
• Ability to work within a global team with limited supervision
