Financial Systems Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential global technology organization in their search for a Financial Systems Engineer. This is a remote role based in the United Kingdom.

Our client is modernizing their financial systems infrastructure and bringing critical capabilities in-house. They need an engineer—not just an administrator—who will own their financial systems with a mindset focused on automation, integration, and eliminating manual work. You'll be the dedicated systems partner to Finance and Accounting, treating the reduction of error-prone processes as core to the role rather than a side project.

Responsibilities

• Own and administer core financial systems including NetSuite, FloQast, and Ramp—managing configuration, business logic, and day-to-day system health
• Identify and eliminate manual, recurring, or error-prone finance operations such as month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and procure-to-pay processes through automation
• Serve as the business-logic and data expert for the finance domain, partnering with engineering teams to define and maintain the rules and canonical definitions the systems depend on
• Build cross-system integrations on a central, version-controlled, observable platform in partnership with engineering rather than as one-off scripts
• Act as the dedicated systems partner to Finance and Accounting teams, translating their needs into system capability and owning vendor onboarding, configuration, and administration
• Leverage modern AI tooling to draft automations and accelerate routine system work

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 3-6 years of hands-on NetSuite administration experience including configuration, customization, user access, roles, permissions, and workflows
• Deep familiarity with core NetSuite modules: General Ledger, Advanced Revenue Management, Accounts, and subsidiary/multi-location structures
• Experience designing and implementing custom records, fields, and automations within NetSuite
• Proven ability to build SuiteFlow automations in response to changing business needs
• Experience managing NetSuite integration ecosystems
• Working understanding of core finance and accounting processes including month-end close, reconciliation, accounts payable/procure-to-pay, and revenue
• Strong track record of automating repetitive manual work through scripting, saved searches, workflow automation, or low-code/iPaaS tools
• Sound judgment about system architecture—knowing where logic belongs, what should be system configuration versus cross-system integration, and which system is the source of truth
• Comfort with at least one of: SuiteScript, SQL, general scripting, or API-based automation
• Strong collaboration skills across both finance and engineering teams with ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders
• Fluent English

Bonus:

• FloQast and/or Ramp administration experience
• Experience with central integration platforms or event-driven environments
• Comfort using AI coding and automation tools in daily work
• Depth in SuiteScript (1.0/2.0), RESTlets, or NetSuite web services
