Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization based in Mainz. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who wants to do more than maintain existing systems—someone ready to take genuine ownership of technical decisions and architectural evolution.

This is a role where your experience will directly shape how software is designed, built, and evolved. You'll work on production applications that matter, while helping to modernize the technical architecture step by step. The organization is also thoughtfully integrating AI-assisted development practices, creating opportunities to influence both what they build and how they build it.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance web applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, and ReactJS
• Build new features and contribute to architectural modernization, moving toward more modular structures with clearly defined domain boundaries
• Take end-to-end ownership of releases, from technical design through production deployment within established change management processes
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate release workflows
• Shape AI-assisted development practices across the development lifecycle while maintaining sound technical judgment in architectural decisions and code reviews
• Ensure software quality through automated testing and thorough code reviews
• Provide technical mentoring and support to newer team members

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

• Several years of professional software development experience with C#,.NET Core, and Entity Framework
• Proven experience taking end-to-end ownership of services or domains, from initial design through production release
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, MS SQL, and modern JavaScript technologies including React and TypeScript
• Solid understanding of CI/CD practices, Azure DevOps, and hosting applications on Microsoft Azure
• Confidence using AI-assisted development tools with the technical judgment to critically evaluate their output
• Degree or vocational qualification in Computer Science, Software Development, or comparable field
• Fluent English skills (B2+ level)

Nice to Have:

• German language skills
• Knowledge of healthcare communication standards such as FHIR or HL7
• Experience with AngularJS, jQuery, HTML, and CSS
