Associate Product Owner

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential B2B SaaS platform in Berlin, and we're looking for an Associate Product Owner who can turn validated product opportunities into scoped, shippable work.

This is a full-time, office-based role in Berlin with no remote option. You'll sit directly with the product team and own the entire lifecycle from initial concept to shipped feature—writing specs, defining acceptance criteria, managing dependencies, and maintaining a backlog that keeps engineering moving forward.

Our client operates in the enterprise innovation space, connecting large organizations with startup solutions through a repeatable platform. What you scope directly impacts what their enterprise customers can execute each quarter.

Responsibilities

• Write detailed specifications that engineers can action immediately, including edge cases, acceptance criteria, and dependencies
• Manage and groom the product backlog, prioritizing work and tracking what's in flight, blocked, or drifting
• Serve as the interface between customer feedback (support threads, sales conversations, call notes) and the engineering queue
• Coordinate releases and verify that shipped features match original scope
• Present product decisions to stakeholders ranging from engineers to enterprise clients
• Scope deep integrations with customer systems, public APIs, embedded AI features, and workflow automation
• Build prototypes using AI tools and illustrate specs visually

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 3+ years in a product company where you personally wrote tickets and owned scoping (not delegated it)
• Technical fluency to discuss data models, API contracts, and engineering estimates with conviction
• Strong writing ability—you'll need to share a spec, PRD, or decision document that shows clear reasoning
• Design sensibility and understanding of what creates good user experiences
• Experience at a company small enough that there was nowhere to hide from the consequences of poor specs
• Daily fluency with AI tooling and workflows
• Comfort with direct, frequent feedback on your work

Nice to have:

• B2B enterprise SaaS background
• Familiarity with corporate innovation, venture programs, or startup ecosystems
• Notion experience

This is a hands-on individual contributor role (mid-to-senior level), not a people management position. The scope can grow significantly for strong performers who earn ownership of major product areas and roadmap decisions.
