Overview
We are representing a confidential insurance organization in their search for a Software Engineer II. This is a remote position available anywhere in the United States.
In this role, you'll design, develop, and maintain complex software systems while working on advanced projects that require a deep understanding of software engineering principles. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Write high-quality code for medium-complexity scenarios with comprehensive test coverage
- Review and translate product requirements into robust, scalable designs
- Build applications that are modular, configurable, secure, compliant, and maintainable
- Provide application system support as needed
- Participate in design and code reviews to ensure best practices and quality standards
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers on the team
- Foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence within the engineering organization
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience programming in one or more industry-standard languages such as Java, Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
- Familiarity with relational databases, NoSQL, and caching solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and good communication abilities
- Ability to work independently on tasks and collaborate effectively with team members
- Capability to influence team members to address impediments and deliver results
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Computer Science
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
