Product Manager – Maritime (All Genders)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential defence technology client in Plymouth who is building next-generation autonomous maritime systems. We are searching for a Product Manager to lead the development of software-defined surface and subsea platforms designed for complex operational environments.

This is a chance to shape the product roadmap for modular, sensor-integrated maritime capabilities from prototype through deployment. You will work at the intersection of engineering, operations, and strategic defence requirements, driving cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development of software-defined maritime capabilities and mission-critical sensor suites
• Direct advanced sensor and autonomous software integration by leading collaboration across System Engineering, Project Delivery, and Operations teams
• Drive product testing strategies including Software-in-the-Loop (SITL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL), and full hardware/software integrations
• Lead strategic market analysis to identify platform opportunities for allied defence forces
• Manage complete product lifecycle from prototype to deployment and customer acceptance
• Enforce rigorous safety and compliance standards across the maritime product portfolio
• Communicate product vision and strategic milestones to internal stakeholders and external defence partners

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Technical degree in Maritime Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven product management experience delivering complex maritime or defence systems
• Understanding of maritime operations and sensor integration
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and navigate regulatory requirements
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain UK security clearance

Preferred:

• Experience with naval projects or autonomous/robotic platforms
• Background in defence technology or rapid-growth aerospace environments
• Experience working in a V-model development process while maintaining agile development pace
