Controller / Senior Controller (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential media organization seeking a Controller / Senior Controller to strengthen their finance function. This role goes beyond traditional reporting—we need someone who takes ownership, understands business drivers, and actively drives improvements through data-driven insights and clear recommendations.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
• Contributing to budget, forecast, and planning processes across the organization
• Conducting variance analyses, actual vs. plan comparisons, and performance evaluations
• Independently identifying, sourcing, and preparing relevant data and KPIs in close collaboration with business units
• Creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, and management presentations
• Analyzing revenue, cost, and performance metrics to support business decisions
• Providing executive leadership with ad-hoc analyses and strategic financial assessments
• Participating in cross-functional projects focused on digitalization and automation of finance and controlling processes
• Collaborating closely with Finance, HR, Sales, and Marketing teams

What We're Looking For

Our client needs a proactive finance professional who combines technical expertise with business acumen:

• Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, Finance, Controlling, Economics, or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in controlling, FP&A, finance, accounting, or similar environments
• Structured and meticulous working style with confidence handling complex data and business scenarios
• Genuine interest in understanding business relationships and supporting data-driven decision-making
• Advanced Excel skills plus interest in BI tools, automation, and data-driven processes
• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and motivation for continuous professional and personal development
• Strong initiative and willingness to take ownership of your areas of responsibility
• Excellent team spirit combined with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach
• Very good German language skills, written and spoken (minimum C1 level)

Pay
