Chief of Staff (All Genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential sports technology organization based in Cologne that is building digital platforms for grassroots athletics communities. Our talent team is searching for a Chief of Staff to work directly with the founder on strategic company-building initiatives and operational excellence.

This is a hands-on role where you will own critical cross-functional projects from concept through execution while establishing scalable organizational processes that support rapid growth.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive selected strategic and operational projects end-to-end, from initial concept through planning, execution, and measurable outcomes
• Build and continuously refine core company processes that create clarity and enable the organization to scale effectively
• Partner closely with the founder on cross-functional strategic priorities, bringing teams together and ensuring critical initiatives advance
• Support process optimization across operational areas as business needs evolve
• Prepare decision-making materials and strategic analyses for the leadership team
• Create transparency and structure using modern collaboration tools to improve organizational efficiency

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5–8 years of experience in strategy and operations roles with demonstrated confidence in execution
• Fluency in both German and English
• Strong ability to think in processes and structures, bringing clarity to complex or ambiguous situations
• Proven track record independently driving projects from concept to delivery in fast-paced environments
• Proficiency with Notion, project management platforms, Google Workspace, and Slack
• Genuine interest in grassroots sports communities and understanding of what motivates participants
• Preference for actively shaping outcomes rather than executing predefined playbooks
• Willingness to work on-site in Cologne (Belgisches Viertel) at least twice weekly

Preferred experience:

• Background in high-growth startup environments
• Early-stage experience building people operations or organizational processes

Important context: This role is significantly more hands-on than the title suggests. You will both plan and execute across shifting topic areas, taking direct ownership rather than delegating. If you prefer pure strategy work without implementation responsibility, this position may not be the right fit.
