Chief of Staff (Strategy & Operations)(All Genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing sports technology company in Cologne that is building the digital future for grassroots football. Our client is seeking a Chief of Staff to work directly with the founder on strategic initiatives and operational excellence.

This is a hands-on role combining strategic thinking with direct execution. You'll own critical company-building processes while working across the organization to drive priorities forward. Location: Cologne (on-site at least 2 days per week)
Employment type: Full-time, immediate start (flexible)
Experience required: 5–8 years in strategy and operations

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of selected strategic and operational projects from concept through execution
• Build and continuously improve core organizational processes and systems
• Collaborate closely with the founder on cross-functional strategic initiatives and prioritization
• Support process optimization across operational areas as needed
• Prepare decision-making materials and analyses for leadership
• Execute hands-on across shifting topic areas as business needs evolve

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• 5–8 years of experience in strategy and operations roles
• Strong process- and structure-oriented thinking, comfortable working in ambiguity
• Proven track record independently executing projects in fast-paced environments
• Fluency in both German and English
• Proficiency with Notion, project management tools, Google Workspace, and Slack
• Genuine interest in amateur/grassroots football and understanding of the community
• Startup mentality—you prefer shaping and building over following established playbooks

Bonus qualifications:

• Previous experience at a high-growth startup
• Experience building People or organizational processes from early stages
