Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital consultancy serving B2B manufacturing and industrial clients. As Senior Digital Analytics Consultant, you will build measurement systems that support real investment decisions in complex buying journeys:

  • Design and own complete measurement frameworks from KPI definition through technical specification, ensuring every metric supports a concrete business decision
  • Implement tracking setups in Google Tag Manager including server-side containers, configured for Consent Mode v2 and real-world constraints like ITP limitations and ad blockers
  • Enforce data quality through validation, debugging, and documentation; identify setups producing plausible but incorrect data and communicate issues regardless of seniority
  • Work beyond GA4 interfaces using BigQuery, SQL, and alternative platforms to deliver three defensible insights rather than thirty charts, always documenting uncertainty
  • Define reporting logic including metrics, granularity, and cadence; specify dashboards built collaboratively with BI teams using Power BI or Looker Studio
  • Connect marketing data to CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot) through offline conversion imports and lead quality tracking where B2B analytics becomes genuinely relevant
  • Implement privacy-compliant measurement through CMP configuration (Usercentrics, Cookiebot, OneTrust), consent signals, and data minimization in coordination with client legal teams
  • Manage multiple client accounts within agreed budgets, flagging scope issues proactively
  • Translate technical concepts like server-side tagging for executive audiences and analytical findings for sales leadership in ways that drive different behavior
  • Leverage AI tools for analysis and documentation while maintaining critical evaluation of outputs
  • Coach colleagues, collaborate across Search, Performance, MarTech and BI teams, and document setups for successful handoffs

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 4 years in web analytics and tracking with direct responsibility for production systems; experience inheriting and remediating existing setups
  • Deep Google Tag Manager expertise covering both client-side and server-side implementations; understanding why HTTP-only cookies via same-site subdomain endpoints matter more than the servers themselves
  • Practical Consent Mode v2 experience including CMP integration and modeling limitations; ability to identify common misconfigurations in unfamiliar containers
  • Strong GA4 capabilities plus comfort with BigQuery exports and SQL; recognition of where GA4 interface reliability ends
  • Business acumen to define metrics before measuring them and articulate which decisions they support
  • Understanding of B2B data realities: extended cycles, limited sample sizes, lead quality focus, CRM as source of truth; project experience in manufacturing, industrial goods, machinery, or wholesale preferred
  • Resilience working with client IT constraints (extended deployment timelines, limited access, DNS request workflows)
  • Hands-on mentality with advanced Excel skills; ability to gather needed input and work independently
  • Strong communication skills in German; professional proficiency in English
  • Bonus: SEO reporting, marketing mix modeling, or dbt experience
