Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential financial services organization seeking a Python R&D Developer to join their technical team in Paris. You will collaborate closely with research and business teams, receiving regular feedback and participating in strategic decisions as you transform, migrate, and optimize critical tooling.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Developing and adding new features using Python and C++
• Contributing to refactoring and optimization of existing tools
• Adhering to development standards and maintaining code quality
• Implementing tests to reduce technical debt and improve time to market
• Tackling technical challenges including real-time processing, parallelization, and high-volume data handling

You will work in an agile, human-scale environment where technical excellence and coding best practices are central to daily operations. Technical challenges include algorithmic complexity, real-time constraints, performance optimization, and scalability.

Technical stack: Backend (C++, Python), Frontend (JavaScript), Unix/Linux environment

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a Python developer passionate about real-time systems and interested in market finance, eager to work in complex, high-performance environments.

• Master's degree (engineering school or university)
• Strong Python skills including multithreading, performance optimization, and development best practices (SOLID principles, unit testing)
• Experience developing critical systems and processing real-time data streams; finance sector experience is a plus
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
