Senior International PR Manager

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech client seeking a Senior International PR Manager to lead media strategy across the UK, Ireland, and additional international markets. In this role, you will:

• Develop and implement PR and communications initiatives that enhance brand awareness and thought leadership, ensuring consistent media presence across UK and Irish markets
• Build and maintain relationships with financial and consumer media, leveraging deep knowledge of UK and Irish media landscapes while exploring new international markets
• Travel to target markets to build on-the-ground relationships with local media, agencies, and stakeholders, acting as a bridge between headquarters and global audiences
• Create compelling, data-driven narratives to engage existing media contacts and approach new outlets strategically
• Draft and distribute high-quality press releases, media pitches, video scripts, visual assets, and other materials tailored to international audiences
• Lead and coordinate external PR agencies to ensure high-quality output and optimal budget allocation
• Coordinate media activities including briefings and interviews, serving as a spokesperson when needed
• Create and maintain editorial calendars to ensure consistent planning and execution across all communication channels
• Monitor the financial media landscape and competitive activity to identify PR opportunities and manage potential reputation risks
• Help set and track team objectives, working collaboratively to ensure goals are delivered with attention to detail

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in a PR agency or in-house communications department
• Genuinely international background and mindset with strong intercultural competence
• Vast, deep knowledge of UK and Irish media landscape with established network of journalists, editors, and financial commentators in these regions
• Curiosity and hands-on mentality to independently research and master new international media landscapes
• Willingness to travel internationally to foster relationships and oversee local market initiatives
• Proven track record of developing and executing PR strategies that deliver measurable results
• Creative storytelling abilities with capacity to craft compelling narratives and attention-grabbing headlines
• Confidence working with various content formats including press releases, social media posts, media pitches, briefing documents, and visual/video assets
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, external partners, and deadlines simultaneously
• Results-driven mindset with strong sense of ownership
• Composure and effectiveness under pressure, especially during crisis situations
• Native or professional fluency in English for UK/Irish markets

Nice to have:

• Experience in fintech, banking, financial services, or high-growth tech environment
• Hands-on experience with video editing tools and visual media production
• Practical experience in crisis communication and reputation management
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools for communications and content creation
• Multilingual capabilities (Polish, Spanish, or Dutch)
• Familiarity with PR tools and media monitoring platforms

Location and Work Arrangement

This position is based in London or Manchester with a hybrid working model. The team works in the office twice per week, with Wednesday as a core in-office day.
