Senior Product Data Scientist

About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading subscription streaming platform in their search for a Senior Product Data Scientist based in London. Our client is a global entertainment business dedicated to delivering exceptional digital experiences to subscribers worldwide.

This role sits at the intersection of product analytics and data science, requiring someone who can both embed within cross-functional product teams and conduct independent strategic analysis. You'll be instrumental in building an experimentation-driven culture while working closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to drive engagement and retention.

Responsibilities

• Champion experimentation frameworks and establish the metrics, methodologies, and practices that make A/B testing the default approach to product decisions
• Design experiments, define success and guardrail metrics, analyse results, and provide clear "ship or don't ship" recommendations
• Embed within product delivery squads, shaping roadmaps with data-driven insights and sizing opportunities for new features
• Conduct independent analyses into what drives subscriber engagement, retention, and lifetime value across viewing behaviour, pricing, and customer lifecycle
• Build predictive models including churn propensity, LTV estimates, and behavioural segmentations that inform targeting and retention strategies
• Proactively propose analyses and experiments the team hasn't yet considered, communicating findings effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate analytical workflows and enable the broader team to work more efficiently

What We're Looking For

• 3-5 years of experience in product analytics, product data science, or similar roles, ideally within consumer subscription or digital product businesses
• Strong foundation in data science methods including statistics, experimentation, and machine learning; postgraduate qualification in data science, statistics, or related quantitative field preferred
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for daily analysis and modeling work
• Hands-on experience designing, executing, and analyzing experiments with solid statistical understanding of when A/B testing is appropriate
• Familiarity with Claude Code or similar AI-assisted development tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to translate complex analyses into clear recommendations for diverse stakeholders
• Independent, curious mindset—you generate your own questions rather than waiting for direction
• Detail-oriented and pragmatic approach with willingness to tackle tasks large and small
• Bonus: experience with dbt, Snowflake, modern BI tools, fast-paced startup/scale-up environments
