Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential consumer products organization seeking a Sr Manager Quality Assurance to lead their EMEA quality, regulatory and compliance function based in London.

In this senior leadership role, you will drive product safety and technical compliance across both in-house and licensed products. You will lead a specialist QA team and serve as the organization's technical voice in industry bodies that shape regulation across the region.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Representing the organization in industry and standardization bodies including TIE, TA, ATPA, BTHA, FJP, AFNOR, CEN and ISO, shaping proportionate regulation and standards
  • Leading and developing the EMEA QA team, setting technical direction and providing authoritative interpretation of regulatory and licensing requirements
  • Monitoring regulatory change across EMEA, assessing business exposure, and leading engagement with industry associations to mitigate impact
  • Owning the Regulatory Change Management Process for the region, ensuring new requirements are implemented on time and verified
  • Developing compliance strategies for complex markets, notably distributor territories and the GCC region including Saudi Arabia
  • Partnering with global QA licensing and EMEA licensing leadership to define, communicate and operate licensing compliance processes
  • Supporting global development teams on new product lines by researching applicable requirements and translating them into product specifications and certification programs
  • Acting as escalation point for market surveillance authorities and consumer safety complaints, applying balanced, ethical judgment where compliance and commercial pressures meet

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 8+ years in product regulatory or compliance, including experience leading or mentoring across multiple markets
  • Deep working knowledge of toy safety standards and legislation worldwide
  • Command of EMEA and global regulation affecting consumer products, including REACH, the General Product Safety Regulation and the wider framework
  • Working knowledge of requirements beyond the toy scope, covering 14+ product, adult collectibles and games, where the General Product Safety Regulation and related standards apply
  • Proven experience leading a Regulatory Change Management process end to end
  • Practical grounding in consumer product safety testing requirements
  • Understanding of children's play patterns and how they interact with products
  • Experience representing a business with trade associations, regulators and market surveillance authorities
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and influence across a global, multicultural team
  • Fluent English; additional European languages an advantage
  • Ability to navigate tight deadlines, shifting regulation and ambiguity with a positive mindset and focus on solutions
  • Thrive in an environment of continuous improvement and learning
