Support Engineer I – Dallas, TX

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity organization in their search for a Support Engineer I based in Dallas, TX. This is a growth-oriented role where you'll advance your career in technical support while deepening your expertise in network security and infrastructure. You'll work directly with enterprise customers to resolve complex technical challenges in a remote-first environment with a flexible shift schedule (11am-8pm CST).

Responsibilities

As a member of the global support engineering team, your day-to-day work will include:

• Providing hardware and firmware deployment support for security appliances
• Troubleshooting technical issues using internal resources and data analysis
• Assisting customers with network infrastructure configuration, virtualization, and third-party integrations
• Managing hardware support and replacement processes
• Maintaining detailed ticket documentation and communication through multiple channels
• Participating in Knowledge Centered Services (KCS) by learning from and contributing to the knowledge base
• Collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams on complex issues
• Serving as the single point of contact for customer questions via phone, ticketing systems, and video conferencing
• Attending monthly in-office meetings and annual training sessions

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Two years of B2B technical support experience (this is not entry-level)
• In-depth knowledge of the OSI Model
• Understanding of network infrastructure routing and switching concepts
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and documentation skills
• Ability to work cooperatively with cross-functional teams
• Strong performance in fast-paced, high-stress environments
• Predictable, reliable attendance

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Unix/Linux-based operating systems
• Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, terminology, and tools
• JavaScript familiarity and comfort
• Networking or infrastructure certifications (such as CompTIA Network+)
• Cybersecurity certifications (such as CompTIA Security+)

Pay

The client has budgeted $60,000 - $65,000 for this position, plus bonus and benefits including health/dental/vision coverage, flexible PTO, 401k with employer match, educational reimbursement, and parental leave.
