AV Installation Specialist

We're hiring an AV Installation Specialist at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This full-time position offers the opportunity to design, install, and maintain audio-visual systems across our campus facilities and learning environments.

Position Summary

As an AV Installation Specialist, you'll be instrumental in bringing high-quality audio-visual technology to our classrooms, conference centers, auditoriums, and collaborative spaces. Working at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, you'll partner with faculty, staff, and facilities teams to deliver reliable, expertly configured AV solutions that enhance teaching, presentations, and campus events. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with problem-solving and customer service in a dynamic higher education environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test audio-visual systems including projectors, displays, sound equipment, and control systems
• Run and manage cabling infrastructure while maintaining neat, well-organized installations
• Troubleshoot AV equipment and systems, diagnosing issues and implementing repairs or replacements
• Collaborate with end-users to understand technical requirements and provide on-site installation support
• Maintain accurate inventory of AV equipment and supplies
• Perform routine maintenance and system upgrades across campus facilities
• Document installations, configurations, and technical specifications for reference and continuity

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience installing and configuring audio-visual equipment and systems
• Solid knowledge of AV technologies, industry standards, and installation best practices
• Ability to read technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications
• Physical capability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in varied environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
