Senior Finance Associate

WFP is recruiting a Senior Finance Associate to join its finance team in Managua, Nicaragua, The Republic Of. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful financial management in support of WFP's global mission.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Finance Associate at WFP, you will play a key role in managing financial operations and supporting the organization's commitment to transparency and accountability. Based in Managua, you'll work with diverse teams to ensure sound financial practices while contributing to the delivery of critical humanitarian and development programs across the region.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and reconcile financial reports, statements, and documentation in compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
• Support financial analysis and budget monitoring activities, assisting in the tracking and forecasting of expenditures
• Process and verify financial transactions, including invoices, purchase orders, and payment authorizations
• Maintain accurate financial records and databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to resolve financial queries and discrepancies
• Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Support financial planning and forecasting initiatives aligned with organizational objectives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
• Minimum three years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or a closely related function
• Strong proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office applications
• Advanced numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and audit procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish language skills are advantageous
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a multicultural environment
• Professional integrity and commitment to the highest standards of ethical conduct
