About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential professional networking platform currently used in over 140 countries. Our client is transitioning from a single part-time designer to their first full-time design hire as they scale across multiple product areas. This is a rare opportunity to join a lean product organization where your work will directly shape how professionals and companies connect online.

As their founding full-time designer, you'll own design across all product lines, working closely with product managers and engineers from problem definition through launch. This role offers genuine autonomy—you'll participate in early product discussions rather than receiving finished briefs.

Responsibilities

• Join product discovery conversations early to help frame problems before solutions are designed
• Take ambiguous challenges through to production-ready designs, covering key states, edge cases, and handoff details
• Design flows that facilitate communication between users and businesses, including onboarding, profiles, discovery, and paywalls
• Maintain and extend the existing UI kit to ensure pattern consistency across multiple products
• Stay engaged during implementation to reduce rework cycles and increase the percentage of designs that ship as intended
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and one part-time designer across a distributed team

What We're Looking For

• Strong UI craft with a portfolio demonstrating clear, thoughtful web interfaces
• Solid web product experience—web is the primary platform for this role
• Ability to defend design decisions through user context and evidence rather than personal preference
• Openness to changing direction when presented with better arguments or data
• Proven experience owning design end-to-end, from unclear problems through to launch
• Comfort with autonomy in a small product environment (under 40 people)
• Startup, founding designer, or in-house product role experience preferred
• Practical approach to AI tools; experience with Figma handoff and prototyping workflows
• English proficiency at B1 level or higher
• Fluent Russian language skills required
