Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential media organization seeking a working student for community management. In this role, you will:

• Manage online communities for various digital channels and formats
• Monitor and respond to community comments with care, professionalism, and empathy
• Serve as a liaison between the editorial team and social media audiences
• Support crisis management efforts and help de-escalate challenging situations
• Research background information, fact-check content, and provide clarifications to the community
• Collaborate closely with social media teams and deliver community insights to inform content strategy
• Create original text and concept proposals for social media posts and support editorial planning

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate brings:

• Current enrollment in humanities, media studies, communications, or a related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
• Strong editorial instincts with the ability to strike the right tone for different audiences
• Deep familiarity with social media platforms, trends, and online culture
• Ability to work effectively under time pressure and remain calm in stressful situations
• Reliability, precision, and capacity for independent work
• Research skills with a keen eye for credible sources
• Team-oriented mindset with ideally some prior community management experience
• Proficiency with standard Adobe and MS Office applications

How We Work With You

This is a working student position based in Mainz or Berlin, with up to 20 hours per week. The role is initially offered on a fixed-term basis with flexible scheduling to accommodate your studies. Our client offers mobile office options after consultation with leadership.
