Welder – Class A

Weir is recruiting for a Welder - Class A to join our team at our Surrey, British Columbia facility. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to contribute your advanced welding expertise to a leading industrial engineering company that operates globally.

Position Summary

We're seeking a skilled Class A Welder based in Surrey to deliver high-quality welding work to our exacting standards. This role offers the chance to work on diverse and challenging projects within a supportive industrial manufacturing environment, bringing precision craftsmanship, technical knowledge, and professional reliability to every assignment. As a Class A Welder, you'll be responsible for executing welding tasks that require certification and a proven track record of quality and safety.

What You'll Do

• Execute welding operations across a variety of materials, thicknesses, and joint configurations
• Prepare materials and work surfaces to specification before welding begins
• Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools in accordance with safety protocols
• Inspect and test completed welds to ensure they meet quality, structural, and safety requirements
• Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and detailed work instructions accurately
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace at all times
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality staff to meet production targets and deadlines
• Document work completion and report any equipment issues or safety concerns

Requirements

• Class A Welding Certification or equivalent professional qualification
• Significant, verifiable experience working as a welder in industrial or manufacturing settings
• Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work to technical drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality craftsmanship
• Safety-conscious mindset and reliable adherence to workplace health and safety practices
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Physical capability to perform welding tasks and work in an industrial facility
