Position Summary
We're seeking a dependable Equipment Operator to manage and maintain heavy machinery in our waste handling operations. In this role, you'll drive equipment, monitor systems, and ensure efficient daily operations at our landfill facility. Your attention to safety, mechanical aptitude, and reliability are essential to our success.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including compactors, dozers, and other landfill machinery according to safety protocols
- Inspect equipment before and after each shift, reporting maintenance needs promptly
- Monitor waste levels and movement across operational zones
- Maintain accurate records of daily equipment use and site conditions
- Follow environmental and safety regulations during all operations
- Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding site conditions and equipment status
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed
What We're Looking For
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Experience operating heavy equipment (preferred but not required)
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and work in an outdoor environment
- Mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication abilities and willingness to work as part of a team
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Flexibility to work the assigned schedule
